‘Electrifying performances’ must end this weekend

The new Company of Ten season has begun with Leonard Gershe’s tale of New York life, Butterflies are Free, and the reviews have been excellent.

Writing in the Herts Advertiser, Madeleine Burton called the lead performances ‘electrifying’ and said the show was ‘a delight from beginning to end’.

In the play, young Don Baker, who has been blind since birth, moves to Manhattan to pursue his dream of becoming a songwriter. When his over-protective mother comes to visit she meets his extrovert actress neighbour, Jill. Mother’s controlling instincts go into overdrive with hilarious results.
