Theatrix – after school and Saturday mornings at the Abbey Theatre

The Abbey Theatre hosts a number of regular events for local arts organisations. If you’d like to find out more about these, please click on the links provided. And if you’d like to talk to us about the possibility of using our spaces for your events, please feel free to drop us a line.

Theatrix offers weekly classes in drama, acting, speech and musical theatre for groups, individual and pairs of young students, aged 5–19, after school and on Saturday mornings. In Theatrix classes you gain self-confidence, assertiveness, poise, trust and respect – not to mention nationally recognised qualifications and many, many friends. Visit Theatrix for more information.

Mini Mozart offers fun and interactive live music classes for toddlers and babies. The classes feature two or more live instruments; a clarinet, violin, flute, French horn, saxophone or trumpet with a piano accompanist. The idea of Mini Mozart is to get children actually listening, not just hearing. Children interact with  live musicians in a way that is impossible with recorded music. Visit Mini Mozart for more information.

The Arts Society, St Albans, brings people together through a shared curiosity for the arts. Its monthly events provide welcoming places to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge about the arts. Members contribute to and preserve our artistic heritage through volunteering and grants. Ultimately, The Arts Society work creates a better, healthier and more connected society. Visit The Arts Society for more information.

Spinning Top Activities was established by Shirley Mowla in 2019. As a mother to a little boy, Shirley wanted to create a safe, friendly space where children can enjoy playing, learning and making new friends together, and where parents could also enjoy meeting others in the community. Shirley and the Spinning Top team offer sessions that are highly entertaining and end with songs that help to prepare your little one for nursery while offering new learning experiences. For more information about new classes starting on Monday mornings, visit the website.
