Synopsis

Simon has returned to Uni after taking a year out.  He wants to get on with his finals and not slip back into old, destructive habits.  Mia, a first-year, is embracing the explosive freedom of life away from home.  Simon doesn’t want to leave his room. But then he meets Mia.

Our Studio hosts the sixth date in a national tour of this brand new play which has received 4 and 5 star reviews, was a runner-up in the ATG Playwrights’ Prize 2022, received an OFFIE Short Run Commendation and was named No. 2 on Broadway World’s Best Theatre of 2022 List.

‘An understated approach that lends enormous power to the gut-punches to come.’  Broadway World ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

‘Quiet and quietly devastating, Philippa Lawford’s new play about depression is sometimes hard to watch.’   The Reviews Hub ⭐⭐⭐⭐

‘Philippa Lawford’s debut play Ikaria marks her out as one of those talents to watch and a voice of our future.’  Edward Hall, Theatre Director

Please note the play contains strong language and depiction of self harm, references to anxiety, depression, suicide, sexual assault and drug use.
