Synopsis

Sheila, Denise, Julie and Fay embark on a corporate teambuilding exercise in the Lake District. But a navigational misstep strands them on a tiny island in Derwentwater – and suddenly their carefully managed office lives turn into a comic survival scenario.

In this darkly humorous play, friendships fray, secrets emerge, alliances shift and each woman must confront who she really is. The island may be small, but the emotional stakes are large.

Tim Firth’s gender-flipped twist on his own Neville’s Island explores the absurdity of competition, the messiness of female bonds and how far people will go when stripped of routine. Through the laughs you ask: When civilization falls away, will there be anyone worth saving?
