Synopsis

Hurst Children’s Theatre Group are ready to make you laugh, cry and sing along with their rendition of the classic story, Beauty and the Beast.

This traditional panto, performed by children for an audience of all ages, tells the story of a vain Prince Perfect and his household staff. An enchantress turns him into a Beast and his servants into household furniture. To break the spell, the Prince must find love and learn the error of his ways.

We meet Belle in the French village of Un Petit D’un Petit. Spoiler alert!! Belle has a heart of gold and changes the Beast for good. They fall in love and the spell is broken. But it doesn’t all go smoothly. The detectives, Copy and Paste are constantly getting in the way, as is the local bully, Gaston.

Throw in chorus lines of Rosebuddies (3-6 yr olds), townsfolk lovingly known as the Baguettes (7-9 yr olds) and the Palace Staff (10-12 yr olds) who are all mimes (panto-mimes!), and you have yourself a 2-hour extravaganza of music, singalongs, dances, explosions and fun! Other children will love watching it and adults will love the humour.

The main cast of 13-18 yr old principal characters are a very talented bunch, many of whom have been entertaining audiences for several years.

The live professional band are ready. The lighting, sound and costumes are all ready. So come along and we’re sure you’ll have a good time!
