Synopsis

All actions have consequences, and Arthur Miller’s play pulls no punches in putting this theme firmly centre stage. It’s August 1947, the morning after a storm, and Joe Keller is in his backyard surveying damage to an apple tree planted in memory of his son, Larry, a war pilot missing in action for three years.

As the play unfolds, Joe and his family are forced to confront their painful past. Tensions rise as secrets are revealed in this poignant reflection on materialism, moral responsibility, the consequences of dishonesty and the burden of guilt.
