The plays are chosen and the directors in place for the Company of Ten’s next (2019–20) season, so it’s time to start thinking about the season after that (2020–2021).

There are five space in that season reserved for directors, long-standing and new, to direct a play for which they have a real passion. All you need to do is choose your play and apply.

The Company welcomes submissions to direct from any member, and those aren’t yet members. You don’t need directing experience. But if you are new to directing for us, then the Company will want to know a little about your theatre background and to meet you for a chat about your proposal.

First time directors with us will be well supported with a director mentor from the Company. The Company has its own wardrobe, props, lighting, sound and set construction facilities, run by willing and dedicated volunteers, but crew for a production must be sought from the membership and are not automatically provided.

If you would like to submit an application to direct a play of your choice, please complete the Submission of Directors Choice Plays for Season 2020-2021 – form (as succinctly as possible!) and return it to our Production Executive, Karen Thomas, by e-mail or to her pigeon hole in the Member’s Room at the Theatre by June 30 2019.

Please ensure you also pop a copy of the script (with your name in it, so it can be returned to you) in the purple box in the Members’ Room.

You will be notified of the outcome of your submission by no later than August 30 2019. Please note that an application does not guarantee selection. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Karen.
