We’re delighted to announce that our forthcoming production of Ladies in Lavender includes a charity night for two local charities – the Hertfordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, and the St Albans Macular Group.

The St Albans Macular Group was formed in 2002 by Brigadier Ken Nutty of the Salvation Army. It’s a means of providing support and counsel for those suffering from age-related macular degeneration in the St Albans area.

The group holds monthly speaker meetings, providing information and advice for members and carers in a relaxed social environment. It also organises outings and trips to encourage friendship and fellowship.

The Hertfordshire Federation of Women’s Institutes recently celebrated its centenary. Their headquarters are in Wheathampstead, where they also have an Arts and Crafts shop, which opens between  9.30am and 1pm from Monday to Friday, selling a variety of items made by their members.

The Federation has institutes spread throughout the county, meeting at different times of the day and days of the week. It also organises various activities, such as art, crafts, cookery, sport, music, drama and public affairs events.

You can book for ticket for Ladies in Lavender here.
