Calendar Girls started life as a 2003 comedy film, starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, and featuring Linda Bassett, Annette Crosbie, Celia Imrie, Penelope Wilton and Geraldine James. Tim Firth adapted it into a stage play in 2008. According to the Mail On Sunday, the play is ‘marvellous theatre, guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and come out singing Jerusalem.’
Andy Mills is a first-time director for the Company of Ten, having joined last year to appear in Happy Now? Andy has considerable directing experience with other local companies, including KatAlyst. He has most recently been seen at the Abbey Theatre playing the role of Pato in The Beauty Queen of Leenane.
